For more than 100 years Ishøj has been delivering water to thirsty copenhageners. In the good old days diesel engines pumped the water almost 20 kilometers to the city, but today it is done by far more effective electrical pumps. However, the old diesel engines are on display at the old Thorsbro Waterworks in the old beautiful engine room. Visit Thorsbro if you are interested in old engines and history.
